One of the best ways to improve your drawing skills and learn new techniques is to look at – and copy – work that you love. By actually trying to make the marks an artist has made, you begin to understand their process better and incorporate aspects of it into your own work. But you do not need to copy whole images. Just copying small areas of interest is a really powerful practice. In this two-hour online workshop, we will explore the whys and hows of learning through copying and have plenty of time for drawing and individualized feedback. A PDF handout with exercises will be provided at the end of the workshop.

All skill levels are welcome. The group will be limited to 12 participants. Erica will send you an invite with the Zoom link before the meeting.

Supplies:
• a multipurpose sketchbook or drawing paper (preferably 9 x 12 in. or larger)
• drawing pencils of different hardness (one HB and a 2B or softer)
