Dear Friend of the RAA&M,
Hello and Good Day!
As the Executive Director of your Rockport Art Association & Museum, I have been entrusted with the daily operating of one of the oldest and most esteemed art associations in all of North America. Ensuring that this institution continues to provide Cape Ann’s artistic community with a first-rate venue for exhibiting their work is a wonderful challenge. Yet there are times when I find I am but one man, and I must ask for a helping hand. And today is one of those days.
For the 12th year, BankGloucester is offering its “Banking for the Community” program, in which $20,000 will be donated to 19 local nonprofit organizations. Community votes will determine how this money is allocated. There are a number of worthy organizations listed as potential benefactors on the ballot for this year’s giving, but there is also space on the ballots where voters may write-in an organization of their own choosing.
Could I be so bold as to ask that you take a moment out of your day and cast a write-in vote for the Rockport Art Association & Museum as a beneficiary of the Banking for the Community program? YOU CAN CAST YOUR VOTE AT www.BankGloucester.com, or at the bank’s 160 Main Street, Gloucester or 15 Martin Street, Essex locations. (Voting is limited to one ballot per person or email address. Participants may vote for up to three organizations on each ballot.) As well, we encourage you to tell a friend! The more votes for the RAA&M the merrier! Voting ends at 5pm on Sept. 30th 2019.
As your Executive Director I would be remiss if I did not reach out to you and ask for your help. With your assistance, we will come just a little closer to fulfilling our mission of presenting the finest in Cape Ann art to the world beyond.
With Gratitude for your Time,
Jim Craig, Executive Director
Rockport Art Association & Museum

SPECIAL EXHIBIT WITH SELECT WORKS AVAILABLE FOR PURCHASE
From Sketchbook to Canvas: The Process of Aldro T. Hibbard, N.A. (1886 – 1972)
Long revered for his New England winter landscapes, the work of Aldro T. Hibbard has enchanted collectors for more than a century. Bold, scenic, endlessly inventive… Yet the question remains: How did Hibbard build his masterpieces? How did he move from firsthand observations of his environment towards his final painted compositions? In this revolving exhibition of sketches just released from the Hibbard Estate, paired with a selection of his masterful paintings, we are now afforded the chance to not only see how Hibbard conceived and built his compositions, but to own them as well.
