I am an experimental artist whose esthetic roots lie in his having been a composer of classical concert music for 50, and a lyric poet for 40, years. While academy-educated in music, I am self-taught in the visual arts where my work comprises paintings, graphics, drawing, and collages.

A major influence on my work has been Paul Klee who saw artmaking as “elevating construction to expression”. I detest conventional curatorial boundaries in the visual arts that make experimentation difficult or impossible.

In addition to exhibitions of my work on Cape Ann, MA, my visual work can be seen at https://www.saatchiart.com/olaske, www.ottolaske.com, and https://issuu.com/jaamzin/docs/otto_laske. My poetry is found at https://www.google.com/search?client=firefox-b-1-d&q=laske%27s+schlesische+sprachschmiede. My musical and visual works, as well as my publications, are gathered in the “Otto Laske Archive”, Schneider Music Library, Texas State University, St. Marcos, TX (https://www.library.txst.edu/music.html)
