A great way to interact with nature! This class will center around painting birds primarily in nature but also in still life. Differences between species, anatomy, texture, and composition will be discussed. A demo will be presented in the form of a short anatomy/drawing lesson then painting. Concepts will be broken down and will form the basis for practice that can go beyond this class.

Students are welcome to provide their own reference photo. A reference for the class demo will be sent prior to the start of the class so the bird can be drawn out at the start of the painting. Students are welcome to paint along or just take notes. The class will be recorded and made available for one month afterwards. A voluntary individual and group critique is offered by the instructor.

All levels welcome. Space is limited. Katharine will send you an invite with the Zoom link before the meeting.
