The very act of applying watercolor to paper is exciting and fulfilling to me. My style is super-realistic but with enhanced light and color to blend drama and reality. I delight in attention to detail. I like my drawing to be perfect. Landscapes, coastal scenes, houses, boats and reflections are my favorite subject matter. Location is mainly Gloucester, Rockport and Provincetown, all of which are known for their unusually beautiful light and natural beauty. The challenge of these areas is to avoid the cliché, yet present subject matter that is beautiful, emotionally connected and recognizable to both visitors and natives.

My paintings are done entirely from my own photographs and memory in the studio.

Born with an art talent inherited from my grandmother, I graduated from Mass College of Art in 1981 with a BFA in Illustration. Later, I studied at the Worcester Art Museum School, where I honed my watercolor skills under the tutelage of Professor Bill Griffiths. His class in "Color and Light" was transformative for me. After moving to Rockport from Westborough in 2018, I'm living happily by the sea painting the beauty around me.
