Charlotte Wharton became a member of the Rockport Art Association & Museum in 1993. After earning a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree at Clark University in Worcester, MA, she studied with Aaron Shikler, Robert Douglas Hunter, and over a nine year period with Everett Raymond Kinstler. Wharton's work reflects her passion for interpreting nature, capturing its essence by focusing on light and atmosphere. Among her many exhibitions, she has shown at the Rockport Art Association & Museum, the North Shore Arts Association, the Pastel Society of America, the Salmagundi, the Copley Society of Boston and the Plein Air Painters of America, earning more than five dozen awards. In 2013 her book, The Language Of Energy In Art: Finding Your Vision was published. Wharton has traveled throughout Europe and the British West Indies and across the Country teaching and painting and continues to write essays and administrate the Facebook page, Quintessential New England Painters which she founded in addition to painting in oils and water colors. She resides in Worcester, MA with her husband Tom.
