When I think about what it means to paint from the soul, I realize my art comes from my faith in God. He has given me the desire to create art that reflects the beauty and the intricacy of the world He created. I try to paint honestly from that place in me that is often hidden from my conscious mind. Many times it is only when a painting is finished that I recognize what I was trying to say. If that painting then connects with a viewer and touches something in their soul, it brings me joy. To connect, to touch, and hopefully to bring joy to another is a great motivation to keep painting.

In the past I have taken courses at Montserrat College of Art and have studied with many gifted and renowned artists from the North Shore and beyond.

I work in oil, adding cold wax and marble dust to create layers of texture. I also work in pastel, acrylic, mixed media, and monotype printing.

I am an artist member of the North Shore Arts Association, the Rockport Art Association and Museum, and the Experimental Group of RAA, the National Association Of Women Artists, and of its Massachusetts chapter, and a Master Artist with the Newburyport Art Association. I have also exhibited at the Marblehead Art Association, Endicott College, the Harlem School of the Arts, and the pastel societies of New Hampshire and Cape Cod. I have been accepted several times to the Regional Show of the Newburyport Art Association and the 2020 National Show at Rockport and to numerous juried shows of NAWA. My paintings are in private and corporate collections in the U.S and abroad.
