Carin Macnamara, a versatile artist with photography, design, and illustration expertise, weaves captivating visual narratives that transcend corporate and artistic realms. Her passion for visual storytelling, nurtured by her educational background at the Pratt Institute, has shaped her creative journey.

Carin’s career began as a children’s book illustrator in New York City, where she developed a profound connection with children, families, and design. This connection led her to transition into advertising, where her medical illustration, graphic design, and commercial photography skills propelled her to the creative director role.

Carin’s photography is a testament to her love for capturing the beauty surrounding us. She is passionate about preserving fleeting moments, from capturing unique portraits to venturing to awe-inspiring locations, finding the captivating allure of wildlife, and exploring the expansive oceanic realms.

Balancing her life roles as a spouse, mother, and creative professional, Carin’s oeuvre has embraced traditional and contemporary photographic techniques. She expertly integrates illustration into various film and digital camera formats, yielding traditional darkroom wet silver prints, modern dye-sublimation metal prints, and employing many digital darkroom processes.

Carin’s work has garnered recognition through prestigious publications and accolades in the visual arts, including Strathmore Paper, Artists Guild of America, Essex National Heritage, and Photography of Excellence at RAA&M to name a few. She recently received the honor of being elected as a new member judge at RAA&M.

In addition to her artistic pursuits, Carin and her husband own and operate Advanced Imaging, a large-format printing company specializing in retail, museums, tradeshow exhibits, and advertising. Their company can be found at https://www.advimage.com/
